Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. Here's exactly how we handle your information.

Last updated: April 2025

1. Information We Collect

Project EquiFlow collects information you voluntarily provide when you interact with our website or programs, including:

  • Contact information — name, email address, and phone number when you sign up to volunteer, start a chapter, or contact us
  • Donation information — billing address and payment details processed securely through our payment providers (we do not store full card numbers)
  • Chapter & volunteer applications — school name, grade level, and application responses
  • Communications — messages you send us via email or our contact forms

We also automatically collect limited technical data when you visit our site, such as browser type, pages visited, and time spent on pages. This data is aggregated and not linked to individuals.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Process donations and send donation receipts for tax purposes
  • Respond to your inquiries and support requests
  • Communicate updates about our programs and mission (you may opt out at any time)
  • Review and process volunteer and chapter applications
  • Improve our website and understand how supporters engage with our content
  • Comply with legal obligations as a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit

We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

3. Information Sharing

We only share your information with trusted third parties who help us operate, including:

  • Payment processors — to securely handle donations
  • Email service providers — to send newsletters and communications you've opted into
  • Analytics tools — to understand website traffic (data is anonymized)

We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the safety of our community.

4. Cookies & Tracking

Our website uses minimal cookies to ensure the site functions correctly (for example, remembering your form progress). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time, though some features of the site may not function as intended.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational steps to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. All donation transactions are encrypted using industry-standard SSL/TLS technology.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your information has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

6. Children's Privacy

Our website is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us at equiflow.connect@gmail.com and we will promptly remove it.

For student chapter members who may be under 18, we collect only the information necessary to process their application and require parental or school staff confirmation where applicable.

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct any inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your personal data (subject to any legal obligations we have to retain records)
